4 Bywell House Cottages, Bywell, Stocksfield NE43 7AD, UK
This is an attractive disused church managed by the Churches Conservation Trust. It dates back to the ninth century, although most of what is visible was constructed later. The Churches Conservation Trust web site notes the sandstone tower, the stained glass and medieval grave slabs set in the walls. The church is in the former medieval market town of Bywell. It is a lovely location, but most of it is private so opportunities for a stroll are limited and the adjacent church of St Peter was locked up when we visited.
